About

Bio
Enoch Cheng is an independent artist and curator. He received his MA in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths, London and a BA in English Literature and Art History at the University of Hong Kong. Concerned with the everyday subtleties in modern lives, his multidisciplinary practice—involving installation, dance, performance, curation, fashion, and the moving image—explores recurrent themes of place, travel, fiction, migration, human and natural history. His works include The Garden at K11 Foundation (2017), HOMESICK at The Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart, Germany (2018), Shuffle at Dance Centre, City Contemporary Dance Company, Hong Kong (2018), Bon Voyage at Hong Kong Art Centre (2018), Influenzer and Morphing at Tai Kwun, Hong Kong (2019) and Ask the Ark at Taipei Arts Festival (2019) to name a few. Enoch is a recipient of the Award for Young Artist (Media Arts), presented by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 2016. He was a fellow at The Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart (2017-2018), and artist-in-residence at The Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2018).
Currently in New York as an ACC Altius Fellow, Enoch is an artist-in-residence at the American Museum of Natural History researching into natural sciences and history. Following which, Enoch will extend his research for a further six months with the generous support from Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office New York.
